TRENTON (Sept. 20, 2017) – Keith S. and his wife, from Brick in Ocean County, were faced with a dilemma – should they take the cash option of $1,275,000 or $5,000 a month for life?  Those were their options after scratching and winning one of their favorite New Jersey Lottery Instant Games Win for Life. After some consideration, they went for the cash.   

Keith is a New Jersey Lottery Instant Games fan. Win for Life and Crossword are two of his preferred games. One morning, while grabbing his coffee, he bought a few scratch-off tickets, including a Win for Life ticket, and off to work he went.  

He settled into his office a few minutes early and began scratching his tickets. When he got to the Win for Life ticket and it revealed his jackpot prize, it took all of his will power not shout out in excitement. He kept his composure and texted his wife sharing the good news. 

At first, Keith asked if she was sitting down. Nervous for bad news, his wife wrote back asking what had happened. Keith replied with a photo of his winning ticket. However, at first glance, she thought it was only a $100 winner and put her phone away until later in the day. After a second review of picture she realized that it was a jackpot winning ticket.  

Keith and his wife wasted no time getting the ticket safely to Lottery Headquarters to file their claim.  As many of us would do with a prize of that size, Keith said that they will use the money to get ahead of their bills and perhaps plan a small vacation for the two of them.
