TRENTON (May 18, 2018) – Maureen and Bill Odas of Trenton often purchase tickets for a few drawings in a row and wait for the results for all of those drawings before checking their tickets. They have a system where Bill, recently retired from his government position, buys the tickets and Maureen, a New Jersey teacher, checks to see if they won using either the Lottery website or mobile app, or occasionally just going to the store to scan them.  

A few weeks after purchasing their Powerball tickets, when Maureen checked the results, she was stunned to see that on her ticket, one of the rows matched all five of the five white balls drawn. When asked what they thought when they realized they won, they had a hard time putting it into words. As Bill said, “It was crazy!”  

“I couldn’t believe it. We were happy. We were in shock,” Maureen added.  

Maureen and Bill’s lucky ticket was purchased for the Wednesday, March 28 Powerball drawing at Risoldi’s Great Value Market, 3100 Quakerbridge Rd., Mercerville in Mercer County. The numbers on the ticket were randomly selected - a Quick Pick ticket.  

Maureen and Bill said they plan to use the money to set themselves and their family up for the future. Bill did admit, though, that the one purchase he is looking forward to is a quality pair of black patent leather dance shoes. He loves to go out dancing, now he can hit the dance floor in style.
