In New Jersey, Lottery Winners Are Everywhere
Every county had a winner of at least $10,000
TRENTON (Dec. 31, 2024) – From High Point all the way down to the Wildwoods, and from Asbury Park to Penns Grove, nearly 500 New Jersey Lottery players won prizes of at least $10,000 in 2024. Yes, that covers every one of the Garden State’s 21 counties.
This link features a map and a list highlighting where the approximately 500 winners of at least $10,000 were in 2024.
Of winners of at least $10,000, Bergen County in North Jersey had the most in the state with 54.
In Central Jersey, Middlesex had 49 (second most in the state) and Monmouth 42.
Among South Jersey Counties, Camden had 31 (seventh most in the state) and Burlington had 30.
More than 50 New Jersey lottery winners won really big in 2024. By really big, we mean at least $1 million. That’s pretty much one player a week.
Among individual players, the Mega Millions player who walked into a Monmouth County ShopRite Liquor store on March 26 in Neptune and won an otherworldly $1.13 billion was the year’s highlight with an exclamation point. For comparison’s sake, that’s almost twice the contract baseball great Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets this month.
Another huge win came on June 10 when a Camden County player captured the $221 million Powerball on June 10 at the Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold.
Another eye-popping win was on March 28 when two players, one in Monmouth County (Wawa #910 in Freehold) and the other in Morris County (Quick Check #162 in Butler), evenly split the Pick-6 jackpot of $30 million.
Big Pick-6 wins came again in May ($4.9 million at Morris County’s Mill Lane Tavern in Rockaway) and June ($3 million at Masonville News and Food Store in Mount Laurel in Burlington County).
Other big winners by game:
- Mega Millions: $4 million on July 23 at Laurel Market in Hazlet Township, Monmouth County.
- Powerball: $2 million on Feb. 28 at Smoker’s Outlet in Runnemede, Camden County; $2 million on Dec. 20 at Lucky & Deli in Nutley, Essex County; $2 million by a Bergen County player through Jackpot.com.
- Jersey Cash 5: $2.44 million, Oct. 3 at Wilson Avenue Deli, Port Monmouth, Monmouth County.
- Scratch-Offs: $4 million in 200X Cash Blitz at Sunoco Food Mart in Elmer, Salem County.
