TRENTON (September 11, 2025) – Sometimes, there’s a feeling that something good is about to take place. That feeling can lead to good dreams. Such is the case for an Ocean County player who matched all five numbers Wednesday night to win the $1,039,075 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot.

“I had a dream during the night that I hit,” the player said Tuesday at the Lottery office when claiming the prize. “I woke up around 3:30 a.m. I went to the computer to check my numbers and I saw I won.”

The jackpot is the 48th won in 2025 and the eighth to exceed $1 million. The winning numbers were 08, 17, 26, 38 and 43. The XTRA was 02 and Bullseye was 38. Robin’s Convenience Store, 256 Atlantic City Blvd. in Beachwood, sold the winning ticket and will receive a $2,000 bonus. The jackpot has reset to $150,000 heading into tonight’s drawing.

For the player, it wasn’t a case of dreaming while sleepwalking. It really happened. The newly minted winner didn’t get much sleep as the realization of the jackpot sunk in. After the sun came up, the player verified the numbers one more time before making a call to a family member to share the good news. “They said they woke up in the middle of the night, too!”

The prize money will be a nice cushion for the winner, who aims to use some of the proceeds to take care of home repairs and pay a few bills.

In addition to the jackpot, 49 players matched four out of five balls and the Bullseye to each win $500, with 10 of those players also hitting the XTRA for an additional $500 each.
