Coming Up Roses in Roseland

TRENTON (May 23, 2025) – An Essex County Lottery player matched all six balls Thursday night to win the $5.9 million Pick-6 jackpot, the New Jersey Lottery’s third largest jackpot of 2025.

The winning numbers were 20, 21, 30, 31, 42, 44. The ticket was purchased at the Eisenhower Exxon, 550 Eagle Rock Ave., on the corner of Eisenhower Parkway in Roseland. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Pick-6 has been responsible for three of the state’s top four Lottery jackpots in 2025. The other top prize, $7 million cash value, was a Cash4Life jackpot won May 14 in Union. Interestingly, the Pick-6 jackpots all have been the third week of the month. The first was Jan. 20, a $32 million jackpot in Jackson. The second was March 20, a $5.5 million prize in Clark.

“We’re starting to see some big wins this spring, which is great. We want to see that excitement build as we turn to what we hope is a busy summer for winners,” Lottery Executive Director James Carey said.

The highest Pick-6 jackpot of all time was $48.9 million, won in Passaic County’s Clifton in 2001.

Other notable recent Pick-6 wins:

• March 28, 2024: $30 million split equally by two players in Morris and Monmouth counties.
• May 13, 2024: $4.5 million in Morris County.
• June 13, 2024: $3 million in Burlington County.

The jackpot will reset to $2 million ahead of the next drawing Monday, May 26.

Double Play Results

Players are able to add Double Play for an extra $1.00 providing a chance to win up to $250,000 in cash. The Double Play drawing results for the Thursday, May 22, drawing were: 02, 11, 13, 16, 26 and 44. Pick-6 Lotto was introduced in 1980 with an added advantage – a grand prize bonus drawing with cash prizes up to $100,000. The latest iteration of the game started in April 2022 and now offers XTRA as a standard feature and includes the option of Double Play – two drawings held back-to-back for a chance at bonus prizes.
