And The Flashing Sign Said…
Early Morning Purchase Paid Off
TRENTON (April 10, 2019) – Robin Hodges of Westville in Gloucester County is a regular lottery player who plays all types of draw games and scratch-off games. She especially enjoys playing the New Jersey Lottery’s Crossword scratch-off games. Robin said she always purchases her lottery tickets early in the morning from a deli where she stops on her way to work. One day, when she was in the store, she notice that one-half of the pack of a particular Crossword game had already been sold and she decided to buy a ticket from that pack.
When Robin got to work, before leaving her car, she began to scratch off the ticket and revealed two words. Since the light in the car was not so bright, she thought it might be better to wait until later in the day to finish removing the coating on the ticket. Robin threw the ticket in the glove compartment. After work she called her daughter and proceeded to finish scratching off the rest of the ticket. Robin read off the serial and ticket number to her daughter and the line went quiet then, finally, her daughter yelled out “Mom you won $500,000.” Robin was in shock because this was her first big win.
When she reached home, still in shock she asked her husband to look up the ticket on his computer. When he did, a flashing sign said “Congratulation! You’ve Won $500,000.00.” They both were ecstatic to know they had finally won a big jackpot. Robin said she will continue to play New Jersey Lottery games and will join the VIP Club.
When asked what they will do with their winnings, Robin and her husband said buy them a new car, replace all carpets in their house , give money to children and become debt free.
Deli Stop Foodmart, 907 Broadway in Westville in Gloucester County is the “lucky Lottery retailer” that sold Robin her winning ticket.
