'Big Game' winners celebrate as they claim a trip to see Pro Football’s Biggest Game of the Year in the Big Easy

TRENTON (Dec. 12, 2024) – Although the two professional football teams that play in New Jersey won’t be competing in this season’s championship game, three New Jersey Lottery players are celebrating nonetheless. They won the Big Game Giveaway, which awarded trip prizes to see Pro Football’s Biggest Game of the Year on Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans and participate in the week’s events.

The “Big Game Giveaway” was a second-chance promotion for Quick Draw Progressive players, officially licensed by Pro Football Hall of Fame, where three randomly selected participants were awarded the grand prize. Five other players were drawn to each win a $100 gift card.

“While I’m sad that my team isn’t going to be involved, I am thrilled that three of our dedicated Lottery players will be going down to New Orleans to enjoy an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey. “Our Quick Draw game pairs well with live sporting events, so this promotion was the perfect pairing.”

Meet the winners

• Peter Krebs, of Spring Lake, Monmouth County: Peter and his wife, Amy, are long time football fans, having previously owned season tickets to a local team. “I had a big stack of tickets to enter into the drawing,” Peter said. “ I didn’t expect to win, but it’s like they say—Anything can happen in Jersey!” Peter is looking forward to the trip with Amy. “She’s probably a bigger football fan than I am,” Peter said, adding that he and Amy are planning to experience all that the area has to offer.
• Alejandro Crespo of Bloomfield, Essex County: Alejandro is a frequent player of the New Jersey Lottery, usually at a Krauser’s Food Store in Bloomfield. “I was not surprised. I was sure,” he said. This will be his first trip to New Orleans, a city he’s always wanted to visit. Alejandro hasn’t decided yet who will accompany him on the trip.
• Roxanne Campagna of Clifton, Passaic County: Roxanne, who plays at Village Stationery in Clifton, has the pleasure of saying what anybody who has been married for 42 years dreams of saying: “I told you so.” Roxanne, an accountant, has spent the last several weeks entering her Quick Draw tickets into the drawing. “It’s funny. I would scan those tickets every night. My husband would say ‘Why are you doing this? You aren’t going to win! Why are you wasting your time?” Roxanne recalled. “I never have won anything. But now I got to say ‘See! You were wrong.’ This is exciting; I’ve never been to any kind of championship.” Roxanne and her husband, Michael, are thrilled to go, even though their team isn’t going to be in the championship game. Further, they are just as excited to visit New Orleans because, like Alejandro, they haven’t been there before. They are big fans of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and want to visit his flagship restaurant as well as the Avery Island hot sauce factory.

How does the Quick Draw Progressive Jackpot work?

The game has drawings every four minutes. A set of nine “Your Jackpot Numbers” (01-80) are randomly selected and printed at the bottom of every Quick Draw ticket. If all nine of the player’s numbers are selected in any of the Quick Draw drawings that the ticket is eligible for, the ticket wins a portion of the Progressive Jackpot based on the amount wagered per draw.

A $1 wager per draw ticket wins 10% of the jackpot, a $2 wager per draw ticket wins 20% of the jackpot, and so on. Any ticket with $10 wager per draw or higher will be eligible to receive 100% of the jackpot. For information on the Quick Draw Progressive games and jackpot, go here.
