TRENTON (Dec. 9, 2024) – Anytime a Powerball jackpot is won and resets to $20 million, the New Jersey Lottery will offer players a free Powerball play with a purchase of three plays. Because a New York state lottery player won the $256 million on Saturday, Dec. 7, the New Jersey lottery will offer the promotion, called “The Jackpot Was Hit!” for the next seven days.

To participate, players must purchase a ticket with three Powerball plays. Players may still purchase Double Play or Powerplay add-ons, but those do not count toward the qualifying purchase.
