Last Week’s Winnings Exceed $7 Million Dollars
Scratch-Off Top Prize of $4 Million in Salem County Tops the List of 29 Winners
TRENTON (Oct. 28, 2024) – The New Jersey Lottery saw 29 players win more than $7 million dollars in prizes, highlighted by two big Scratch-Off top prizes — a $4 million 200X Cash Blitz and a $1 million Platinum Payout.
On Oct. 26, the Sunoco Foodmart on 56 Chestnut Street in the Salem County borough of Elmer sold the 200X Cash Blitz. The $30 game became available in August with three top prizes valued at $4,000,000 each. As of Oct. 28, two top-prize tickets for the game remain. A Wawa on 51 Flock Road in Trenton in Middlesex County sold the $20 Platinum ticket on Oct. 24. That game began on Feb. 3 with three top prizes available—one now remains.
The Platinum winner typically plays a variety of Scratch-Offs. While scanning the selection of choices, their eyes settled on the Platinum game. “I always play a different one,” the player said. “When I first saw what I won, I thought ‘Ok. Maybe $10,000? That’s great.’ But then I realized it was $1 million.” While the money will have a huge impact on the player’s life, the victory is taken in stride. “Money goes fast, so you have to be careful.”
Draw games also had big winners this past week. On Oct. 21, two tickets split the $861,944 Cash 5 jackpot. Krauszer’s Liquor on 714 Hamburg Turnpike in Pompton Plains in Passaic County and the Country Lakes Pub & Grill on 558 Lakehurst Road in Browns Mills in Burlington County each sold the winning tickets, each valued at $430,972.
“We are simple people, but we always wanted that big check,” said one of the Cash 5 winners. That prize money will go toward the savings account and home improvements. But, hopefully, the winner says this won’t be the last win. “Oh, it’s going to happen again.”
