TRENTON (Aug. 11, 2026) – After reviewing final ticket sales from Monday night’s Powerball® drawing, game leaders have increased the estimated jackpot from $975 million to $1.0 billion. The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $433.1 million.

The jackpot ranks as the eighth largest in Powerball history and the largest U.S. lottery jackpot offered so far in 2026.

“New Jersey Lottery players have always been lucky, and we’re optimistic that the Garden State can find its first billion-dollar Powerball prize soon,” said New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey. “We encourage everyone to play responsibly and remember: Anything can happen in Jersey.”

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Powerball draw studio in Florida. The drawing will be broadcast live by carrier TV stations across the country and livestreamed on Powerball.com.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.

More than half of every $2 Powerball ticket purchase remains in the jurisdiction where it is sold, helping fund public programs and services that benefit local communities. Since 1992, Powerball has generated an estimated $38 billion for good causes, including education and scholarships, veteran services, parks and recreation, and more.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
