Ninth largest Powerball jackpot ever goes to one winner in Montvale

TRENTON (Nov. 5, 2026) – A New Jersey Lottery player in Bergen County matched all five of the five white balls and the Powerball to win the $847 million Powerball jackpot last night. The jackpot has a cash value of $363.1 million. The winning numbers were 15, 34, 41, 53, and 56. The Power Ball was 21, and the multiplier was 2X.

New Jersey Lottery sold the only jackpot-winning ticket for the drawing. The ticket was sold at Wegmans Food Market, 100 Farm View, Montvale in Bergen County. The store will receive a $30,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The lucky winner may choose between an annuitized prize of $847 million and a lump-sum payment of $363.1 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive the prize in 30 increasing payments over 29 years.

“Congratulations to the New Jerseyan who won the $847 million Powerball jackpot, and to the Wegmans team in Montvale for selling the winning ticket,” said Governor Sherrill. “The lottery has contributed nearly $35.7 billion to support programs and services across our state, and its profits help bolster the pension system for public employees who keep New Jersey running.”

"This historic jackpot represents an exciting and life-changing moment for the winner, and also a reminder of the Lottery’s lasting impact on New Jersey. Since 1970, the Lottery has contributed nearly $35.7 billion to the State, and its profits now help strengthen the public employee pension system under the 30-year agreement signed into law in 2017. We congratulate the winner, and we thank the retailers and players across New Jersey whose participation makes that support possible," said New Jersey Treasurer Aaron Binder.

"New Jersey sold a $1 billion Mega Millions ticket in 2024, and it’s amazing that we just sold the ninth largest winning ticket in the history of Powerball," said New Jersey Lottery Commission Chair Ian Leonard.

"This incredible prize marks another great record for New Jersey and proves just how lucky our players can be. We are excited to meet the winner soon," said New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey.

The lucky winner should sign the ticket immediately, make copies, and store it in a safe place prior to claiming their prize. For prizes of this size, the New Jersey Lottery recommends the winner meet with financial and legal advisors. Winners in New Jersey have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. More information on claiming winning prizes can be found on our website.

New Jersey Lottery also sold one $50,000 winning ticket in Cumberland County. A ticket sold at Vineland Discount Liquors on 1668 S Delsea Dr., Vineland, matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball drawn winning this third-tier prize.

Double Play Results

The Double Play drawing is a separate event for players who opted in for the Double Play feature on their Powerball tickets. No player won the top prize, which is $10 million. The Double Play drawing’s numbers were 03, 06, 23, 58 and 65; the Double Play ball was 15. One Double Play ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Double Play ball drawn winning the $50,000 third-tier Double Play prize. That ticket was sold at Jersey Pride Food Store, 19 Route 516, Old Bridge in Middlesex County.
